Ecutek Closed Loop Boost Control using CPC Harness

Hey Guys,

I am not at all happy with my SCG1 boost controller so I am in the midst of getting my hands on a GM 3 bar map to hook up to the car so it can monitor boost and control it.

I plan to steal the boost regulator from the SCG1 and the awesome guys at Ecutek said it would be best to use the CPC harness to control it.

My question is I dont want to just unplug the CPC valve and cause a possible over-pressurization of my fuel tank since one of the vents will now no longer open as it should. Has anyone every addressed this or done this? I am looking through the service manual now and I see there is another valve. At the same time I can disconnect this line and vent to ATM but id like to see what others have done even if it was just deleting the charcoal container.

I need closed loop boost control, its weird that a company like innovative does not allow for it with their system.

Thanks in advance

Mitch

Mitch - I just had Seb from Speciality do this for me.

As my Innovate SCG1 **** the bed - gave me a very unstable spike to 550 hp. And then it wouldn't boost over spring pressure. So Seb... did his magic.

He installed a 4 bar map sensor - wired my innovate boost selenoid to my ecu - via a couple wires from the back of my engine to innovate boost selenoid.

Re-ran vacuum line from driver's side charge piipe to middle port on the selenoid. And then left side of selenoid to bottom of the wastegates. And disconnected the top of the wastegate ports to just vent.

He gave me 3 Maps

1 - 8 psi just for crappy gas.
2 - 9.5 or so psi for 94.
3 - 11 -12 psi for race gas.

So far so good.... Seb said I was his 3rd 370 he has done this too.

awaiting race gas fuel concentrate to test map 3...

Pulled over 520 hp but he backed the timing down for more safety.

I just ordered a six pack of race-gas. If the blending guide is accurate, I should save ~$50/tank with 91 + race-gas vs 101 at the track. Of course, the biggest advantage will be in situations where there is no 101 available.

Am I the only one not running a boost controller?
