Slip/Abs/brake light all come on after tire change and 4.08 install problems

Hey guys I hope this hasn't been covered already I couldn't find any info in my searches due to the nature of the question. Basically after about 9.6 miles on the odometer my slip, brake, vdc, abs lights will light up. I installed 4.08 gears over the winter and everything is hooked back up correctly, wheels speed sensors and all. here's where I think my issue is though since I don't see others with the issue with gears. I am running a 255/35/19 front and 305/35/19 I remember there was a calculator or something that told you if your sidewall heights were within a certain number from each other to keep the speed sensors happy since the rears are a lot taller than the fronts. I cannot remember where this link was or how I found it but I am hoping for that since the gears make no noises and perform well. thanks in advance

Also brake fluid level is good

I'll give it a shot. Could be your tire sizes. Using the TireRack Mich PSS sizing specs. Your fronts are 26.0" dia. Your rear is 27.4" dia. That's almost a inch and a half difference. If you went with a 305/30-19 on the rear. It's 26.3". Or a 255/40-19 on the front. It's 27.1".

Ok cool thanks that's kinda what I was hoping to hear I couldn't remember where the link was to a good tire calculator. There was a good one on my350 years ago that told you the percent you were allowed to get away w

I guess next question is I am going on a 4/hour drive to get tuned the 22nd is it OK to roll w the lights on? Just to this apt. And back? I don't wanna damage anything sounds like a dumb question for sure tho

You won't damage anything. When you dyno. The rear tires are spinning, and the fronts are stopped. Some of those idiot lights come on anyway.

Ahhhh I see. Thank you so much. Not looking forward to a 4 hour drive w 4.08s lmao. Who needs gas tho right?

Not had the steering wheel off at all have you ?

NeverBoneStck 04-10-2016 09:54 AM

I don't believe it's your tires or wheels. I have had my 4.08 for 5 years with 20 wheels and zero problems

What's your tire sizes?

Hmm possibly your rear sidewall is too tall? I ran a rear tire size of 275/45 and those lights came on, but also my speedometer didn't work; therefore, my odometer didn't work keeping miles from being logged.

Yeah it's def not the gears. I had a Nissan tech do all the work and I installed the diff. I think Rusty has it correct tho.
