Redline SuperCool WaterWetter -- Is it worth it?
Im debating flushing my radiator with this stuff, is it worth it? Is it compatible with our engine? Thoughts? Pros/ Cons?
Thanks fellas. |
It's only worth it if you are running straight water or very little coolant. It doesn't make a huge difference if you're running a 50/50 mix.
|
Thanks Chuck. Yeah, Im just debating if its worth the trouble, I've read somewhere that it actually lowers temps by 10 degrees.
|
Yeah, but their claims are based on you using it with straight water. It's less of a reduction with a coolant mix.
|
Roger that, thank you sir. That was easy. :)

I did see a significant drop in coolant temperature on my 540 BMW. I will add it to the Z when it gets fresh coolant this summer while doing my SC install. Cheap insurance and the Z can use all of the cooling it can get.

I use it. I run 75/25 coolant/water.

I run Engine Ice. It does pretty good at dropping engine temps. And I don't have to worry about freeze protection with it. I run it in all of my performance motors.
|
It's like $10, lol
Run it. I run it in every car. |
Local speed shop carries it along with lots of Red Line products. Great stuff!

i dont have it in my Z, dont think its really necessary even at the track my coolant temp stay the same but it work on my 1000cc bike dropping 12 degrees.

Are you just going by the dots on the water temp gauge? It's not linear. It may be lowering your water temp and you can't see it since the dot for normal temp covers a range of 20 degrees or so. |
