Clutch Combo

I've been through the forums for the past few days and just can't find anything to completely sell me on one brand or the other. Basically i'm a full bolt on NA as of right now, but plan on going Stillen SC in the near future. I am for sure getting the Z Speed HD CSC as well as a new master cylinder but that's all i've made my mind about. I would like a clutch that can obviously hold the Stillen SC, but not be too undriveable as it is also my DD. I've been looking at the Z1 Clutch and Flywheel combo pretty hard as its only $750 for both, but i'm not completely sold. What would you guys recommend?

Anything made by ACT they build some of the best clutches out there, get the rjm performance pedal too

I've got the Z1 combo in full face. I am happy with it, Daily Drive with it, and it handles my 520whp just fine. It's like half the price of most comparable Clutch/Flywheel packages.. save that extra cash and put it towards your SC plans.

Would the Z1 Clutch Full Face hold the BP Twin Scroll? Or would I need their 6 puck?

Depends on your goals... But you should be just fine in the 500whp range. jwick has the BP kit and the Z1 full face clutch. He is the one who convinced me to get it, so I'm paying it forward :)

Skip the puck clutch on a daily driven car. It's unpleasant in traffic. And get the lightest flywheel you can, it's a nice upgrade if you can handle the noise.

I ended up getting the full face. Not really down for that 6 puck life as a DD. Would have loved to get a twin, but was way to much money. Maybe someday :/

I have a 6 puck. It grabs hard every gear. You pretty much can't make a silky smooth shift from one gear to the other. I'm not new to driving standard cars. I have driven standard transmission for 16 years and 1000's of miles on many platforms and I still can;t make silky smooth shifts in my car. If you DD and don't plan to drag race much, get a full face. My car was built with dragging in mind so that's why I got it. If I have to ever replace my clutch/flywheel, I will get a twin disk.

Yea I was really wanting a twin disk but they were just so expensive. I just couldn't justify it as it's going to be my DD with light track/drag race.

Have you tried the RJM clutch pedal? From what people say about it, it could help. Just curious, I don't have one myself but its on the future mod list.

SOUTHBEND, OS GIKEN, and Specialty Z.

Only clutch setups you need to know....

Fixed. Specialty Z can choke on my hog.

Holds my power just fine.

Currently tuned at 510/440 but the clutch has held 505/470 for over a year and thousands of miles.

From my experience there is no reason to spend the extra money on a clutch setup unless you are shooting for over 500wtq.

I have the RJM clutch. I have had it for a little while now. It's awesome but I still can't make butte smooth shifts. The puck just bites hard.

Thanks that is good information.. Jon@Z1 recommended the 6-puck to me but I went with jwick's advice and got the full face... Sounds like I made the right choice for my situation (DD, no track).
