New Clutch, feels like crap

I just got a new clutch installed, a competion clutch, pressure plate, and Z1 CSC. I pick up my car, 1st gear is shaky and jittery. I can't downshift because if I do, it feels like the whole transmission shakes.
Is it me? Or is it the new clutch
It has about 15 miles on it and I was just wondering if this was normal for new clutches.
Thanks guys!

EDIT:

More miles on the clutch, feeling a lot better

Why did you install a competition clutch - this is exactly what they are like.

Bite is abrupt and they jerk and act like a regular pain in the ar3e ........... as they are not "sprung".

Competition clutch is like a switch .. on or off, no inbetween

I was originally gonna get South Bend but the guy who answered on ZSpeed said he was out and that the Competition clutch was a good clutch

I wouldn't go so far as to say that.

ZSpeed is not known for doing that.

OP, are you sure your install was done correctly?
Maybe it's the Z1 elimination kit

DEpointfive0 03-31-2016 08:08 PM

OP, if you ordered from ZSpeed, why didn't you just get their HD CSC?

That is not true, it totally depends on which stage clutch, organic kits are smooth, pucks are jerky and quick engaging.

We would never do that, come on now.

Are you using our zspeed csc or the z1 delete kit? Im assuming the later if the clutch is overly aggressive

If the clutch was installed correctly it should be fairly smooth, what flywheel are you using with it? It will take a little time to break in and will probably smooth out some with miles. I believe you got the stage 2 kit which is normally a good driving kit.

Yeah, I've been driving it more now to break it in and I believe the clutch cable adjustments off
But the clutch over all is feeling a lot better now

I have a competition clutch stage 1 paired with the zspeed hd csc and a jwt lightweight flywheel and love it, very smooth engagement and revs up super quick....OP just keep in mind that with the competition clutch there is a 300 mile break in period, so be gentle with it till then

If you reused the stock flywheel it cannot be resurfaced. That can cause some judder on take off since you are putting a new clutch on a used surface, More miles will some times help smooth it out.

If the pedal is changing engagement points they probably don't have it bled right or the master cylinder is failing and causing it, We always recommend a new master when the slave or clutch is changed. Keeps this from happening after the work is completed. A lot of times when you open this hydraulic system the original clutch master no longer want's to work correctly.
