Play in drive shaft and thump under hard shift

I have a thump from under the car when shifting hard from 1st to 2nd mostly . I took it in for an oil change and had the mechanic looked at the trans mount which apparently is ok . He said theres a bushing in the rear support that the diff is attached to that apperars to be cracked .
Is this common ? Im assume its covered under 5 -50 so Ill contact the dealer

My second problem is this . If I let the clutch out quickly so it just engages theres some ratteling that the mechanic says is play in the drive shaft . Is this normal?

You can check yourself to see if you have drive shaft play though it's more likely that's just the flywheel Rattle that you're hearing.

Thanks for the replies . Its the rear diff bushing for sure .
Is the covered under 5 50 warranty

Honestly I'd probably just pay and go aftermarket for the diff bushing. The oe bushing is terrible and a replacement will just fail again, most likely outside of warranty. Unless you plan on selling the car soon get an aftermarket bushing. I have the whiteline bushing on mine.

How do you find the whitelines ones on the road ? Is there an increase in noise vibration and harshness ?

I am planning to do mine on my 2012 car when I fit the Quiafe diff

My car is a bad example as it's built (at least mostly) for autox meaning stiffer everything. Also I'm extremely tolerant of NVH. I can't imagine just the whiteline diff bushing really increasing nvh much at all.

Any time you use stiffer/harder bushings, there will be some increase in NVH.

New bushing seems to be a popular option when modding/replacing diff so a site search might provide some insight. From what I recall reading on here, there is an increase in NVH but most people consider it a small price to pay. YMMV

Called the local Nissan dealer ,said not covered . I found a local shop that will do it for 300 + parts . Seems like a good price
