2016 370z sports package final drive

I have a 2016 370z sports package. Yesterday I raced a friend of mine that has a 2014 370z sports package. My shifting was totally different from my friend's. I wanted to know if the gearing (final drive) changed in the newer model. Maybe I'm crazy.

Any idea if the tires were a different size?
Different sized tires will change the effective final drive.
