Amsoil users, What's Your Oil Change Interval?

Hey guys so I have finally decided I want to switch over from Mobil 1 to Amsoil. I am just wondering if anyone here is doing even maybe 10,000 mile oil change intervals with Amsoil. Also what filter are you using? With the Mobil 1 my oil gets dirty by 2300-2500 miles so I change it every 3000 miles, probably a given since I beat on the car a on daily basis. So you Amsoil users, what's your oil change interval and what filter are you running?

Getting darker at that mileage is normal though.

Amosil or any oil put in the z should be changed every 3k or less depending on how hard you run it. Dirty oil just means its doing its job. I havnt sent any samples to black stone but when I really whoop on the car I change my oil before 3k. Oil is cheap maintenance

I'm doing 4k+ oil changes from now on, in the past every oil test report for 3.5k - 4k miles, the oil has been in fine shape to go for longer even doing track days on it. Amsoil should be fine for 4k+ change intervals.

Most quality oils will go longer than 3k with no breakdown in lubrication. Send in a sample to blackstone. They'll tell you exactly how long you can run the oil. I'll bet it's 5k. The 3k interval is outdated. Modern synthetics can handle a lot more than that.

That being said, I still change at 3k even though blackstone told me 4500 is fine.

:iagree:

Unless you drive real hard, track the car, or run in some other extreme condition, most good-quality oils are good for at least 5000 miles - even more if you drive "normally."
That said... I only do a little spirited driving every now and then (seldom WOT) but I change the oil every 3-4k. Old habits die hard. ;)

If you are really serious about your oil, analysis is your best friend.

There is a thread in here, guy with 240k miles running redline for 7500 miles. Thats pretty awesome. I'll keep an eye on the oil after I switch and see how it goes.
