VLSD question, upgrading base model

DIFFERENTIAL ASSY-VISCOUS - 370Z (Z34) 2009+ 3.7L V6 (B/SPORT+T/SPORT) :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

That says its the differential assembly viscious ... Is that all I would need to upgrade my base model to have the VLSD?

Thanks in advance!

you'll also need around $500 in extra parts between the new output shaft, bearings, seals, etc, and then paying someone to do the install

a VLSD is hardly an upgrade - in fact, it stinks, and over time, the minimal lockup it has new goes away, and is not much better than an open diff.

you can pick up a used VLSD on my350z for next to nothing. I still wouldn't bother with it - not even worth the time spend making the swap IMHO vs the aftermarket units out there

I would go for an aftermarket one, that being said not sure one is needed anyway unless you plan on doing some track events, I have driven my son's base 07 350Z and the shop's base 370Z and really didn't feel the need for the lsd, nothing a good set of tires wont take care of for street use.

for average street commuting, I agree with Gus - it's a waste, just like pretty much any other mod. For those fun backround runs, or through the mountains, etc, the differential plays HUGE rewards, and will be one of the best mods you will ever do. Of everything I ever have done to my 350Z, the differential remains my favorite

true, I forget about mountains and twisties since here in Florida the only way to get anything close to that kind of action is a track LOL
