CSC replacement. Jwt clutch/flywheel
Hey so gonna pick your guys brain a bit. Im going to be installing my new jwt clutch flywheel kit this Sunday. Im sorta tight on money right now so here's my question with a bit of back story. My csc has not failed yet but around a month ago i was having this issue where on a occasion during cold start my z would make high pitched noise like something was spinning but not catching, after a few tries it would make a noise that seems like it finally caught but roughly. It has not that again for quite some time. So here are my questions: will putting in the new clutch and flywheel cause to the csc to fail? Can i wait sometime to change my csc? If i do change my csc will not changing the cmc cause the new csc to fail? I can currently purchase a new csc from the dealership for roughly $135, i would love to upgrade it to the zspeed hd csc but currently can't afford nor can i currently afford replacing my cmc. So guys what are your recommendations. I just spent around $2000 on my z :happydance: so that sorta put a dent in my funds :bowrofl:

Just spend the money and get the upgraded CSC, you'll hate yourself if you don't. Wait till you can buy then install. Labor hurts

Do not, under any circumstance, put an OEM csc in, especially with an upgraded clutch. If you can't afford the part, you sure as hell can't afford to pay to drop the tranny twice. |

Wait to replace the clutch till you can afford the hydraulics, Otherwise you may not make it to where you are going.

Don't bother swapping the clutch until you can afford to do the whole job. |
I would agree with everyone else. Wait to to the swap until you can afford the CSC and CMC. Especially with a road trip happening right away. better to do the trip with a clutch that slips a little than be stranded in the middle of Texas with a bunch of cattle laughing at you and a blown CSC or CMC.
