2014 Z and Clutch pedal went soft on me ??

I was driving the other day and I felt my clutch pedal had collapsed at least 1-2 inch maybe to the floor. I still could change gears but something weird like I lost pressure or something. It was on and off especially on downshifts.
I checked what I could and didn't see anything wrong. Took the car to the dealer but everything was back to normal when I brought it in. They checked it out, went for test drive but no fault found. It's been a week now and everything is fine. I wonder what happened. It's a Canadian Z and the dealer said they never had somebody reporting this problem yet. They said If it's a clutch cylinder or hydraulic problem the warranty will cover it so I have two other years. I read a lot of Z's in the States had this problem and Nissan doesn't do anything ??

Well if everything is fine, no leaks or low fluid levels. Only thing I can guess is somehow the fluid boiled.

check your clutch fluid levels every fill-up. if it changes in level or colour (drastically between fill-ups) then something is leaking and or broken.

mishuko, I haven't even passed the 350km mark on my new Z and I smell something burning. Could it be the CSC? Say it ain't so, please!

new cars will have a burnt smell from the exhaust system and gaskets breaking in. this is normal.

Thanks kenchan. Fingers are crossed that it is the exhaust and gaskets breaking in. Cheers.

I had this happen when I tracked my car for the first time. It was equivalent to brakes feeling mushy because of boiling fluid. It came back after it cooled and with slow, easy clutch engagement. I replaced the fluid with Motul RFB 600 and haven't had a problem since. I recommend a power bleeder if you replace the fluid yourself (http://www.amazon.com/Motive-Product.../dp/B00KY56NCU).

Check your clutch fluid level. If its empty then clutch slave cylinder busted. You wont see any leaks outside because it leaking inside the transmission. Dialer usualy replace it for free because its a common issue on 370z.
Happened to me in the first 800miles on new car. Pedal failed to the floor. When i went to a dialer they just bleed the clutch line. When i asked them where did all the fluid went they did not know what to say. Then 200mil later it happens again this time i cant even change the gears had to tow car back to the dialer. This time told them to tell me where is the fluid goes to if i don't have any leaks in my parking. Next day dialer called and says it liked inside and they have to replace cylinder and clutch as well, because clutch fuid destroyed it. It took them 8 days to fix this and car only 1000mil. old.

the clutch pedal will not come back up as fast as when u accelerate normally if you clutch in too aggressively after hitting high rev's. ive noticed this from the getgo, after break-in. this is why ive been pretty gentle with the clutch while clutch-in especially going wot. i think this is where the csc wears prematurely if repeated.

Potential CSC issues in the future for sure. Its a ticking bomb. And yes, Nissan gives a flying crap about this.

Looks like Nissan giving a 'flying crap' just hits all Z owners in the face, sooner or later.
