Fuel Gauge Sensor..

Hi,Americans friends,i got a problem with my fuel gauge, usually i punped 20 litres of fuel, but last week, because of my country's National Day,petrol is cheaper,so i pumped full tank, but now after using 160km,my Fuel gauge still full,so i knew the 'float' inside the tank,is stuck at full position, now my service centre told me a new a whole new fuel pump, just check with you guys,is it true i need a new pump or just change the float inside,thanks..

This happened to me with my 1st 370z -- the gauge registered full until the tank was about half full then the gauge would drop.

I had both fuel level sensors replaced under warranty.
