Too long on redline?

Hey guys,

I have a 2012 370z 7AT. Long story short I was in 4th gear and felt the car loose some slight momentum. Looked down and my rev indicator light was solid and I must have stayed at redline for a second or two for the cars computer to take over and not allow the revs to go any farther.

Think this hurt the engine at all? it seems to run fine still. 27k miles

Too focused on the track I guess...lol

I've bounced mine off the limiter numerous times for a second or two doing autox. Have yet to see any indication of damage. Also I'm using the hard limiter instead of the sh!tty throttle cut limiter as I changed the settings in Uprev. As a result, in theory my limiter should be even harder on the car than your's.

Oh no!!! The engine is likely toast!!! Give it 100 miles or so, but get some money together now.

Your car is fine. You can redline it for much longer without doing any damage. Car has a limiter for a reason

You will be OK, plus you have another 3 gears before anything goes wrong.
On a serious note, no harm was made to the engine. The Z does not "bounce" once it hits the limiter (on stock form) as other cars where they really bounce on and off the limiter. Next time pay more attention to engine sound.
