How much does something like this cost usually?

What exactly gets done to increase the power of the engine through this process? If there were gains possible, why doesn't the manufacturer make these changes? Is there a down-side to tuning other than warranty problems?

Can we get the flashes by mailing in our ECUs or is this a dyno only tune?
