Just going back on the set up 1slow370z had the cam started producing power above 8k

imjello 07-28-2015 10:11 AM

anyone know a vender that can get the camshaft?

Elmo370z 07-28-2015 02:12 PM

Thank you!

the CTD germany 370z with jun cams didn't make that lobe lobe lobe sound that 1slow370's car made

Rusty 08-01-2015 04:09 AM

Believe there is 2 different sets of exhaust cams from Jun. One is more radical.

Elmo370z 08-01-2015 11:23 AM

Stage 2 282, i believe it's what your suppose to run in a NA set up

It's kind of weird that there is a DE 350Z that makes 372 NA, probably the only one, but none the less. The VHR should in theory have loads more potential.

I think the main problem with the vhr is the ECU and the tuning capabilities. Making everything work together is obviously the key here. cams and ITB's do nothing if you cant tune them right. Somebody needs to do a crazy high compression/cammed/ITB/high rev build on a vhr with a nice stand alone that will give you the tuning parameters you need. THAT would be interesting to see. So far everything I see is stock ecu stuff

Elmo370z 08-01-2015 01:16 PM

Standalone, your car won't pass emission. So for the majority of the people that isn't an option. It is this new Era of quote on quote making cleaner vehicles

brucelidat 08-08-2015 11:09 PM

After watching 1slow370's video again, the lobe lobe lobe sound doesn't quit bother me as much as I remember not liking it initially. Not sure if it's a dealbreaker for me now. The quesiton still is if VVEL tuning would improve the gains form the cams enough to make it worth it.

brucelidat 08-08-2015 11:17 PM

Wish there was an in cabin video to hear how it sounds from there.

G37Some 08-09-2015 12:24 AM

too much effort, uncertainty and wasted cash.

if you want cams just stick with polaroid. if you want car performance just get boosted.

Elmo370z 08-09-2015 12:58 AM

Or you could just follow the leader, or walk your own path. I rather take the time to learn or hence be the guinea pig.

juld0zer 08-09-2015 07:36 AM

the other guy was in the UAE. He had the cams installed then had some issues with post-installation. Can't remember his username but if you go back thru the threads and look for one with VVEL fault codes

Elmo370z 08-09-2015 10:15 AM

P
You have to follow the fsm to the T

Morfiy 12-23-2015 02:13 PM

Guys, those who have JUN cams installed, did you experienced any issue with an abscense of clearance between cam knee and valve cup ?
Sorry if I name it wrong.
I'm installing 282 JUN cams and faced situation where ther's no clearance between JUN cam knees and valve cup. So I assume that this could be considered as "normal" and an adjustment to cup should take place in order to reach required clearance (either 0.32 or else)
Would appreciate you help

Elmo370z 12-23-2015 10:15 PM

pm 1slow370z or MaMotorsports

1slow370 12-24-2015 01:27 PM

Yep i had to change the the lifter buckets. Jun recommend clearance (from the all japanese instructions) tells you to set it the same as reccomended per the factory service manual. Follow the fsm

Thank man! I decided to adjust oem lifter buckets to required clearance (0,33). We'll remove the metal from inner side of the buckets.

Nice

1slow370 12-26-2015 11:25 PM

Just dont take off too much once you get through the heat treat its junk nissan sells different sized lifters, the exhaust lifters are available and fit both intake and exhaust. Also remember to check them under full ladder assembly torque while bolted to the heads the clearances change a lot as you tourque it all down.

Cams are there, bolting all back. Following all torque moments from user manual Will fire up an engine today-tomorrow.

what other supporting mods do you have with the cam?

Elmo370z 12-27-2015 12:25 AM

I'm about a year in-half away from installing my top end build

As of performance, only cams. Then oil cooler, racing thermostat, silicone lines, oil catch tank and something else

Elmo370z 12-27-2015 12:37 AM

Nice, im interested in seeing what gains you get from the install. What tuning software are you going to use? Are installing the jun 288?

Originally I was going to use UpRev, but now seriously thinking of Ecutek.
My last figure was - 300 hp with no software and major mods. Hope to see 320 hp on cams and soft

Elmo370z 12-27-2015 09:54 AM

awesome, can't wait to see the numbers

Sure

Morfiy 12-28-2015 10:38 AM

Cams installed, all good, no CE light, temps okey. Will drive to dealers to adjust idle.

They're, going to use Uprev, because Ecutek isn't in stock

brucelidat 12-28-2015 11:04 AM

Let us know how it goes. Did you have a baseline dyno form before installing the cams?

Yep, got it

Z eliminator 12-28-2015 11:12 AM

My cams are being installed in the next 2 months on the 4.5 stroker.

brucelidat 12-28-2015 11:14 AM

Your engine is way too modded to give anyone a gauge of a single mod, haha. You're a wildman (in a good way)!

Morfiy 01-21-2016 02:10 PM

Quick update on my cams
Done VVEL reset, without throttle reset because of steering shaft sensor error. Will find out what's wrong with the sensor to make sure whole proceedure of reset is complete.
Cams sounds great, I didn't have chance to try out car so far but already cought wheel spin on 2nd gear :happydance:
next step is to get UpRev tune and see the difference on diogram

brucelidat 01-21-2016 02:29 PM

Why not get ecutek instead of uprev?
