Engine removal cost

Friend of mine from this forum and I were talking about the cost of pulling our engine. Those of you who have had theirs done for any reason, how much have you paid to get it done?

$2000 seems reasonable for remove/install?

Are you swapping a complete engine for a complete engine or do you need to tear down the old one to place parts back on the new one (i.e. AC, power steering, etc.)

I had mine done by a local shop and it was 1100

This is more of a generic question. Maybe an engine swap or a rebuild or boost. Just looking for ballpark cost of removal and reinstall.

It's a pretty good difference. If you are just dropping the engine to put a complete engine back in I wouldn't think it would be more than $800-1,000. A good mechanic that is familiar with the platform can have the subframe on the ground in a couple hrs.

What about performing a TT Install...... is $2800 a fair price?

I'm not considering other costs of course. If you need to get boost done, there is a whole lot of other things you'll need done I'm sure. This is JUST for the removal/reinstall of the engine, do the wiring and what not

I would figure 15-20hrs of labor. What your hourly rate is depends on where you live.

Do you really have a G37 GTM TWIN SC? Didn't think there were many of those kits that actually made it on cars.

Actually I was the 1st owner of the GTM Twin SC. However I've sold the kit, and now I am in the process of acquiring the new GTM TT Kit.
