Dressing up Pulleys

random question, has anybody with vq3.7 attempted to color their engine pulleys? I dont see many aftermarket ones for the 3.7 available and I dont know if powdercoating will actually work or help the cars performance. Just curious since I have them all out at the moment.

I know anodizing might be an option but I have leaving that as a last resort.

All the colored engine pulleys I have seen are anodized.

Mike the Powdercoater might be able to tell you if powdercoating would even work (I'm not sure it will stand up to the engine bay heat but maybe). But I can tell you that powdercoating is not going to improve your car's performance :ugh: lol

I dont mean improve like a modification but doubt meaning it may actually hurt it.

lol I didn't figure you were trying to say colored pulleys = more hp

But yeah, if the powdercoat will survive in the engine bay, I can't imagine it would hurt anything.

Lol. Might just powdercoat the outer surface otherwise anodizing which I need to find somebody that offers that's service

Anodizing can only be done to aluminum, so you could not anodize the stock pullies.

Powder-coating will hold up just fine except where the belt touches the pulley I would expect it to wear through quickly.

Yea i was thinking of taping off that area and just having the outer surface coated. Thanks for the info on the anodize guess that makes sense considering I have only seen it done on wheels.
