Intake manifold

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys my friend got his Z and it already had an aftermarket intake manifold on it but we can't figure out which one it is. He wants to find a cover that will fit it. Any ideas??

Chuck33079 02-23-2015 04:50 PM

Looks stock. You sure it's not one of the modded stock ones?

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 04:54 PM

I'm not sure. How would you figure that out?

Trilitheum 02-23-2015 04:57 PM

The PCV hose connections are in the wrong spots to be an 370z OEM, and the MAP sensor is also moved. I would say it is a DE engine manifold.

370Z JT 02-23-2015 04:59 PM

Take it off and see if it's been ported.

370Z JT 02-23-2015 05:00 PM

If Its a DE you can see if the bolt holes have been re drilled.

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 05:02 PM

Whats DE? I sent a photo to the tech at Motordyne and he said it wasn't one of theirs

DR_ 02-23-2015 05:03 PM

I suspect there was a M370 installed originally and then they went back to oem and they just left the PCV and MAP the way there were for the M370.

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 05:05 PM

This is frustrating

Trilitheum 02-23-2015 05:08 PM

Sorry I meant the HR manifold, its the manifold off of the last VQ35HR 350z.

^^ I don't think it is the OEM, the two front PCV ports are missing and no MAP sensor slot/port on the top back right side.

DEpointfive0 02-23-2015 05:22 PM

It's 100% stock. 100%

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 05:24 PM

But the screw holes do not match up with a stock manifold

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 05:24 PM

Why would someone out a 350z manifold on a 370z??

Trilitheum 02-23-2015 05:29 PM

More midrange power, the M370 is essentially a modified HR manifold.

This looks like someone adapted it on their own.

I'm staring at a stock manifold right now on my bench and that isn't a stock 370 manifold, there should be 2 hose barbs on the front, and a pocket and port for the MAP sensor on the back top right side.
There should also be one more mounting tab on the front 90 degrees from the front left one.

Yea I compsred the 370 stock one and he bolt holes don't match up. So it's not a stock one lol. Not just have to figure out of its a 350z one. So it's still a good mod?? I just need to figure out a cover for it Becuase the stock engine cover dosent fit it.

Then yeah. HR manifold. Tril is correct.

Can you post pics of the holes? I wonder if they filled them in or said F-it

370Z JT 02-23-2015 05:40 PM

It should look just like the manifold on your car (Motordyne).

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 06:15 PM

If it's a 350z manifold anyone have any ideas of a cover that I can get or get made to fit it? I wonder if the fitment is the same as the m370?? If so I bet motordynes cover would still fit it.

I don't see the old holes so im guessing they filled them in.

Joepro 02-23-2015 06:48 PM

page 5...you can see them side by side...also I my engine cover fit not perfectly but still was able to go on but you do not have the m370 plate so the stock cover should fit just fine. The studs i nthe back are missing, either get new ones you just use 10mm bolts(what I did)

Schsplayer00 02-23-2015 09:01 PM

Thanks for the input!!! I'll see if I can rig the stock one to look good if not I know I can get the Motordyne plate they told me I can order it by itself im just wondering if it will fit.. Is the Motordyne manifold and the 350z manifold the same on the exterior does anyone know??

Joepro 02-23-2015 09:16 PM

Th stock cover fits over this, it just bulges, so a stock cover will fit just fine on yours, just need the proper bolts quick trop to the auto parts store is all...
