I actually just checked Z1 and it looks like they don't offer any discount for SRM vs Non-SRM manual transmissions. And the price is right at $2K. But Courtesy Nissan has it listed for <$1700 here. I can't seem to find an option to check fitment for the Sport trim, so I would assume that link is for a MT without SRM.

SRM is not a physical component within the transmission, or a different clutch setup - its electronic in nature utilizing data from several sensors, and the ECU.

Re-use those sensors from your existing transmission on a new one.

I get that SRM is electronic in nature. But I did not realize that the sensors were external to the transmission and could just be swapped over. I wonder why Z1 offers a drop down menu to chose SRM or Non-SRM. I can't imagine the SRM version comes with all the necessary sensors if the price is the same.

FSM should tell you if there are any differences.

My guess is that there is no difference.

As far as I can tell, the only difference is the SRM has two additional sensors to disconnect - Gear Lever Position Sensor and Speed Sensor (see Step 13 & 14). The gear lever position sensor appears to be part of the transmission assembly.

There does appear to be two different manual transmission part numbers. 320B0-1EA0B for Nismo and sport package models and 320B0-1EA0A for base models. Still no price difference at multiple websites. Found them as low as $1621.

There is a old thread on here somewhere about a guy replacing his syncro. Another alternative is talking to john shepard, but last i spoke with him he said it would cost quite a bit since our transmission aren't in demand

Never been a reason to find out. I don't know of anyone that has grenaded on yet. Only problem is the syncros.

I will admit I haven't bothered to look for over two years when I put the turbo on.

I already bought an used transmission and going to sell my thrashed transmission to the person I bought it from for a fraction of the cost. I wished we had a stronger demand to fix our transmissions though. My boys wished I had a Honda platform instead of a Nissan platform lol.
