Do they line up one way only? Or just one way?

... are we talking about the 4 17mm bolts ( I think they are 17mm) that connect the driveshaft to the rear differential right? If so, you just line the holes up (any hole ot any hole) and bolt her down.

Those are the ones. So it doesn't matter which way it goes? As long as it lines up?

The driveshaft is already balanced from the factory. The only time it would need to be rebalanced is if a weight came off. If you have the type in which you unbolt a flange from a flange to remove the driveshaft. You want to mark the 2 flanges before you remove it. So when you put it back together. The 2 marks line back up.

Never heard of balancing the LSD. I've installed a few. Shim it to get your bash lash, and toe pattern. Some have a crush sleeve. Never balance?

More like shimmed to make it balanced?

No. Layman terms. Use shims or a crush sleeve on the pinion to set the toe pattern. Moving the pinion forward of rearward. Use shims between the bearings and the carrier, or large screw adjusting nuts to set the backlash. What you are doing is moving the carrier with ring gear left or right.

Is there a DIY on swapping a base diff to LSD?

LuLZ! Yes! The fawk'n REAR mount stud (38354-0C00A) goes rite N2 the cover Yo!
Like I said in the past, this is totally a RICER mod if u install the finned diff cover w/no LSD upgrade and/or Final Drive Ratio Xchange. Soooo not worth the time/effort! It maaaay-B worth it if u'r installing solid AL diff mounts, but prob not! Its really meant for dudes who have dropt the FD to 4.08/4.36 to keep the gear lube c00ler. :p
