MAP sensor location
 

Does anyone know where the MAP sensor is located and how I would clean it? I've been searching for the last week on different forums and Nissan manuals and I can't seem to find any information on it. Thanks.

No, MAP. The manifold pressure sensor...I know where the MAF sensors are.

Upper right hand side of the intake manifold. Just to the left of the right throttle body. It is connect to the manifold.

MAF cleaner but be very careful with it. Just as sensitive as MAF.

What made you clean it?

Long story short. Sucked up some water in my intakes about 3 weeks ago. I have a "hitch" at about 3500 rpms no matter what gear I'm in since then. I've cleaned the MAF sensors with MAF cleaner, looked for vacuum leaks in intakes and exhaust and retightened both. Changed all the plugs even went as far as buying a programmer to tune it and I can't work it out....

It's starts "bucking" rich/lean rich/lean until I accelerate or decelerate. It only happens when I hold the throttle in one position within 2500 to 3500 rpm, even on cruise control. It seems like I always have to keep the rpms over 4k for it to run smooth and AFR to be correct. I have no DTCs showing either. I don't know..and since I've tuned it now I'm afraid to take it to the dealership as I may have voided the warranty although this programmer will allow me to reset it to factory settings.

It's killing me! I just want it fixed so I'm trying everything I can...if you have any suggestions I'd really like to hear them. Thanks for responding!

When you sucked up the water, did you dry your air filters and re-oil? Wondering if bad air flow is causing an issue.

I have Dry-Flow filters (AEM) so no oil required. I fingered through the pleats and nothing looked unordinary. They were practically brand new. This Z has only 7K miles on it..also practically brand new. I just hope I'm not doing more damage running it like this but it's my only source of transportation.

I guess I could clean them..but would one incident of water splash dirty them that bad? Dunno, but if you think thats a solution I will try it.

and yes I let them dry for a day...

and BTW @ W.O.W.: I found the MAP sensor (thanks!) and I cleaned it with MAF cleaner and no changes...

Have you taken any long distance trips since this happened? It might help balance out the ECU.
Trust me. I feel your pain. I lost my 350z because of sucking mass amounts of water in. It killed my engine completely.

god don't tell me that! i drive to work 40 miles one way...but i don't run it thru that rpm range...

No need to worry. Mine locked up instantly when I hit the water.
I was thinking a really long trip. 150-200 miles or more. Something where you can set the cruise and let it purr.

Hi I knoe this thread is pretty old but see my Z is throwing me a P0106 code, I'm cleared the code before with my PLX KIWI but it says its a permanent code. P0106 is the Barrometric Pressure Sensor(which describes it as the MAP Sensor.....Would you guys know if my intake manifold is defective or my MAP sensor is defective??? It all startex when I installed my Typhoons about 8 months ago, I changed intakes now but its still there and it bugs me a lot. I've cleaned the maf sensors but not the MAP since I could never find it lol. I'd like some info if anyone could help I dint mind replacing tje MAP sensor but I rather fix it if its defective or what not.
