I just added the dimentions of the core in the first post.

With our bracket it fits perfectly behind the opening of the front bumper, also adding a new aggressive Look!

I know several guys got a good look at the Fontana meet.

I don't want to sound like a newb when I ask this, but I'm trying to understand the physics of the oil cooler design.

This is my take on it, so please correct me if I'm wrong:

I'm not too familiar with oil cooler design, but I'm assuming the oil enters the cooler on the top, and exits on the bottom. From there, the oil flows horizontally across the cooler and then begins to flow downward through the rows. Is this correct?

With this in mind, the flow path from the top of the cooler to the bottom is a short one. Not to mention, it can now flow with gravity. I'm assuming this shorter path of flow in conjunction with gravitational forces helps eliminate some pressure loss. This lower pressure loss means the oil velocity within the cooler is greater, meaning it can flow in and out relatively quickly, re-enter the engine, and warm up quicker.

On the other hand, it sounds like the cooler won't be able to cool adequately as the oil can flow in and out quickly without dissipating much heat. This is where the size of the cooler comes into play. Due to the large surface area, it can still dissipate enough heat to be effective.

Was any of that correct haha?

Why are all the oil coolers for this car so rediculously overpriced lol. Lower the price and you'll have more sales. You guys price this stuff way out of the expected range. It costs as much as an exhaust for a little metal thing and 2 hoses. The unit looks nice and all but instead of trying to cleave people and make a high profit price it within reason and you'll have much more volume in sales to make up for it.

Preaching to the wrong choir. Its the manufacturers of the cooler cores, hoses, fittings, etc. that charge an arm and a leg. I am guessing AE doesn't make anywhere near as much on these kits as you think. Now they could go with cheap parts, but with their reputation for quality, I wouldn't put my name on cheap parts either, especially when it comes to a component that can ruin your engine if it fails.

agree. this is SOOOOO not the place to skimp on $.

the other thing is, while your advice is great for buyers, it usually is NOT the best strategy for suppliers... better to make twice as much gross margin $ at half the volume when you're a small business... same overall GM $ but comes with less work (managing customer orders)... you prob don't want to hear it but it's true... i'm not saying that's what AE is doing here at all, by the way

Ofcourse not it is what it is. It does look like a great kit don't get me wrong..

The markup on these is close to 100%, but that's not unusual for small market kits.

For anyone who tracks their car, this is a must!

What core do you guys use in this kit? Is it your own?

We use top of the line Setrab cores. This is the same core setup we use on our Porsche GT3 race cars.

Lol we wish. As many of you know this is not a money making product for us. We got into this market bc everything out their that we tried wasn't enough. Built our own kit and then local customers saw them and wanted them. Just as a reference our cores alone cost us just over $600.00. Add the billet adaptors and brackrts we have made plus the best fittings and lines out there. Then have all the lines build and pressure tested by a third party company it adds up fast. But this is the same lengths we go with our porsche, BMW, and Audi customers as well as our race cars so we can't skimp on this.
