When are we meeting up to get this knocked out on my Z?

Rid3_FaM0uS 05-21-2014 08:31 PM

Steve! Text me at 5673561391 man! I got my personal phone back so I'm off that company one you currently have my number for! I'm betting that's probably why I never saw you text me a while back! Lolol

I see you have the entire front end disassembled, how much of that helped with the tuck?

Rid3_FaM0uS 06-30-2014 11:44 AM

in order to do the FULL tuck its a necessity. Your coolant temp sensors, and AC core sensors, and your horn wires are up there; as well as a couple others IIRC. fenders will need pulled to gain acess to the side marker lights; in which pulling the fenders requires pulling the side skirts lol. I was going to try and tackle the whole ordeal in one sitting, but unfortunately I was cutting it too close for comfort on my dyno tune; so I had to put things back together. My car was blown up on the dyno, so I haven't yet had the time to continue the project for the final results to you guys. Im nearing completion of the shortblock(waiting on bearings to arrive from Nissan) so this project will be the first thing I return to.

Barring unexpected difficulties, how long do you think a full extreme tuck would take?

This took me about a week of slow 4 ish hours a night after work and one hard hitting weekend day/night. But I took it very slow. Just as turboing my car I spent massive hours of doing homework(googling) and forum crawling. This was my first ever tuck and I also knew I wanted to put it on here for you guys to try yourselves; because of those reasons I took my VERY sweet time. Making sure to take several pictures and twice over my work. To do this again I could honestly bang it out in two days time (16 ish hours) for the engine harness tuck. Probably 20 hours total to do a whole engine bay and relocate the ground starter cable wires.

Dude. Major props to you for doing this. I can handle electrical stuff but this isn't something I'll be able to do since mine is my daily. It looks SUPER CLEAN though, congrats.

Zdayz 2014!!

I may try this this winter as I can't drive in the snow.

Yeah not having wheels for two days would suck :( but if you did it on a solid weekend and had nothing to do it would be a nice little way to stay busy I can say that!

Rid3_FaM0uS 07-02-2014 09:43 AM

Same reason I did mine bud! I started in like February ish haha took my sweet ol time since I wasn't really in a hurry but it made for a nice little "stay busy" project.
