Reverse bulb install question...

How biiiig of a pain in my *** is this going to be this weekend? Putting in some Cree's...I can't find any DIY's...of course I know how to carefully pop the tabs off but what else is involved?
Thanks!
Metal Matt.

What the hell are you asking?

Taking out the tail lights is a pain. You have to take out most of your interior, there is an 8mm nut in the trunk holding the tails in. One you have that off, there are 2 10mm bolts holding each in from the top

HAHA! sorry...not the taillight assembly...the BULBS for the reverse lights...just putting in some @gluxlite Cree backup lights but I hear just swapping the bulbs out is a bitch.

You have to take the taillights out to change the bulbs.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK man.

Popping the tail lights off isn't too bad, I've done it countless times.
Follow this DIY until you hit step 7, and then what DEpointfive0 stated, there will be a 8mm nut you have to remove, and then 2 bolts on top, after that you disconnect the cable harness. After all said and done, I did not put that 8mm nut back so I can easily remove it. It's been like that since I've owned the car for almost 4 years with an Amuse kit so I can tell you no harm done if you put that 8mm nut or not.

Here is the DIY I was talking about:http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...torsports.html
Follow the interior removing steps until you see the pic on step 7!
Good luck bro!

EDIT

I didn't read all the way that you just want the bulbs changed, I never bothered trying it, my bad.

I'm stuck.
I've unbolted everything including the 3 bolts on the tail light....which direction do I need to pull/push so as not to break the clips holding the tail light in? one DIY says forward but I'm thinking pull back to the rear based on how the taillights are snug towards the front.
Feel free to text as I am stuck mid-mod outside right now.

Push towards the rear and give it some umpf. It's fairly easy.

DEpointfive0 10-18-2013 02:49 PM

If you undid the rear bolt, they should come out pretty easy

Install complete

Thanks for the help DE and the rest of you guys....the fog light DIY says "push forward...but like you guys said..you just pull directly backwards to the rear of the car and they pop right out...looks BEAST too I might add.

Nice! In for results. I made my own high power bulbs running on a single Cree XM-L at 1000 mA using a "puck" buck driver (1/3 the maximum power this LED can handle). It's crazy bright, and I want more!

Cree has a newer LED out, and that's the XM-L2. Too bad our tail lights don't use anything bigger than a 921 bulb so I can have more surface area to play with. I really want to fit in a quad Luxeon Rebel star.

Below is the triple Luxeon Rebel star @ 600 mA:
