The thing with using hot glue is it'll melt right when you put them headlights in the oven... so it's pretty much useless. Epoxy or aluminum foil tape (has strong adhesive) works great.

He is exactly right, and you don't know til you pull them apart another time. I pulled mine open again to do the side-marker LED's to match instead of the Amber, and pulled all the hot glue out and used epoxy instead. I updated the DIY about a week or 2 ago to reflect that as well.

The aluminum foil tape is an interesting idea as well, never would have thought of that! :tiphat:

Well finished it all. unfortunately with some problems that will result in reopening 1 of the lights :shakes head:...tested the LED's before and after i sealed the light(worked good). once i put it all the together the bottom LED on the left headlight went out. also the light isnt as flush to car as i would like. the right headlight was perfect and ez (did it 2nd). but the left has given me all kinds of problems. Also the black out of fangs worked very nicely and looks good. thanks for diy it really helped a lot!!

anybody doing this mod, I have a backup RH headlight that I purchased as "backup" in case I screwed anything up. I opened it up to make sure I know how to do it before opening my own, and then put it back together.

if anybody on here wants to do this mod, Let me know, I have that backup headlight with everything in it, its good to use as a example in case you forget where something goes, and then sell it to the next person for the same price. It was nice to have because I did resort back to it a couple times.

300obo + shipping (I paid 350).

That looks great! What paint did you use? Did you use the heat gun method?

I really need to do this mod...
