Here I come with the retarded questions again.. what exactly is a heat gun and where the hell can i get one?

Solus 10-08-2009 07:40 PM

One more thing... since that krylon paint works on the chrome headlight stuff.... would it work on the badges on the front and back?

AJ@ECSMotorsports 10-08-2009 09:26 PM

This has always been an awesome cheap mod for almost ANY car.

Two thumbs up for the OP, great job!

the heat gun part man... u can get it at home depot.... it should be like 20 some bucks for a cheap one u dont need like the most expensive one they all pretty much do the same thing its a hair dryer on steriods...and the krylon paint part i have used it on the headlights with no fear cuz its pretty much in an egg shell it is not susceptable to weather heat rain because the clear lense and it seals it.... painting ur badges with it i have no idea if it will flake due to these conditions... for my badges i used real auto paint not spray can cuz i wanted to make sure it wasnt gonna flake...

yah man search caravanshaka...... and he has LEDS as well :D

spearfish25 12-19-2009 09:09 AM

Keep in mind, this is an $800 problem (per side) if you screw it up.

Has anyone done a video of how the light dispersion and intensity changes after a blackout like this?

simota1 12-20-2009 03:43 AM

^^^^ agreed.... i dont think anyone did yet?

Cjanik 12-20-2009 11:05 AM

I have a backup passanger side headlight that i purchased specifically for this mod. I did the passanger side first with that backup headlight and once I got it apart and back together, Then I knew what I was doing and proceeded with my own two headlights.

if anyone wants it, im letting it go for 250 dollars, cuz I paid 350 but I cracked the very tip of it (thats why I bought this headlight, glad I did!) . much better than the 800.

I noticed the reflector strips are slighter darker, did the poster paint those as well?

simota1 02-16-2010 01:02 AM

yes for my reflector strips i actually tinted the outside of my headlight..... and did a black outline around my whole headlight...
