Nice write up man! Saw that you live in Athens. That's cool. I live in Jefferson, and my wife works at Athens Regional.

Here is another suggestion. To remove the tape residue, you can soften and loosen the adhesive by using water, plastic and the heat under the sun.

First, cut a 4 x 9 inch piece of plastic garbage bag. Use the thicker plastic if possible.
Second, spray the tape residue and surrounding area with water.
Third, place the plastic piece over the tape residue and seal the perimeter by running your fingers around it.
Fourth, park your care under the sun and let it bake under the sun for about 30 minutes.

The trapped heat generated under the plastic will loosen the adhesive and make it easy to peel without using any harmful chemicals or a screw driver wrapped in a sock. The same technique is used to remove tint from your windows.

:iagree: I just used this method to remove my 370z badge this past weekend. With the 101 temp it worked like a charm!

Thanks, I do live in Athens. I have been at Athens regional frequently lately, following my accident. I saw someone up here about a week ago, in a Brilliant Silver 370, with black wheels. Once in front of Athens regional, and once again on Commerce Rd.

:iagree: Yeah the screwdriver wasn't the best method, I guess I'll get to retry this now since my Z is totaled :(.

I'm new to the Z community got my 11' Monterey Blue last monday and am wondering what you would have to do to recolor the emblems flat black and put them back on. Thanks in advanced :)

Nice, congrats on the Z. I have not personally done it, but have seen a few members on the forum that have used Plasti-dip to do this without taking the emblems off of the car.

removing front emblem?

Hi,
did you guys use goo gone also to remove the front nissan logo front bumper? I have a black Z one i want to put in place.

Thanks

I added a black Z emblem yesterday. I left the vehicle in the sun for about an hour (100+ degrees). Attempted to use fishing line but that cut into my hands so I tried an inner strand of paracord and it work great. Took about 10 minutes to complete most of which was getting the old adhesive off (used Goo-Gone).
