For my contribution to the thread, I ended up using these to wire in my resistors and switchbacks:

T20 Male Adapter

After messing around with them some more, I've got everything working properly. I'm curious to see how well they hold up.

I ended up dremel-ing out the recessed area to get them to fit. More work, but it looks nice. Also, they fit so snugly that they "snapped" into place and I probably didn't even need to use glue (although I did just to be sure).

Sweet. Didnt even consider that. Didnt have the impression that it would "snap" into the shroud. Happen to have a pic? Tho too late for me.

Please someone help me, going crazy trying to find the best halo, a lot out there. The cheapest ones are the Morimoto gen 3, but i saw that some people had problems with them even if there supose to last 50 000hrs.
The other ones were sold by Oneighty , i would like to install the dual Orbs but i don't know if i have to do the mod of cutting out the flasher and installing a lens, does say on there site but by the pictures of the mod does look original flasher with orb but...
The ones that i see the best seem to be the Oracle Plasma, the quality seem to be there, lifetime garanty and 100 000hrs. But if i buy the dual do they fit around the flasher or do i have to cut it out ?
My opinion is that dual looks the best but i don't want to cut the flasher out, îm to scared of that mod.
Please help me . Thanks!

No answer... mabe looked to desperate , anyway i bought the dual Oracle plasma. See where it takes me.
Maybe i'll post pictures if anyone cares ;-)

Done. The new morimotos are quite a bit brighter than the drls. I wired the drls to a button so I can turn them off with the halos always on if headlights arent on. Reason being, I felt the colors did not match too well. Lesson most learned from this DIY. Take your time and make sure you get all dust out of headlights before sealing them back.

Are you saying you dremeled out the entire area inside the shroud to the outer ring? Just curious because I followed the YouTube video showing you to wrap a wire around the halo and I'm not happy with the result so I'm redoing it.

Im pretty sure thats what he means. Even if you shave off those wire loops on the morimotos, they dont quite fit in the shroud 100%. Might have a shave a little?

Awesome thread and good job on your headlights. I love it!
I posted this in another thread and adding to this one. Tried reading if people already have answered but I'm thinking about doing my headlights. I was told to not mess with the factory ones but to buy a cheaper set and then do those reasoning because of the cost and they have a chance of leaking or fogging once you take it apart? Does/Has anyone had that experience yet of their lights letting or leaking in water/fogging?

This is my car:

This is my goal but do grey to match the car:

Correct. I shaved off the wire loops and used a dremel to slightly enlargen the recessed area so the halos would fit.

I'm so chicken about opening my headlights... I would buy beer to come by and witness how you do it in person.

If you were in OH, I'd show you once my wrist heals enough to do the work. I attempted this weekend, but had to abort due to not having enough strength to pull them apart after baking.

I'd advise anyone against doing the clear lens swap. Here's what they did to my housings after just one day in the sun. I used Krylon Fusion paint.

Is it because your lens are to much outside the shrouds?
Do you have a better picture of the lens itself if possible.
Why does it not do that on the xenon lens.
I'm having second thoughts of doing this.
Thanks.

ShuuraRG 05-05-2017 03:22 PM

for those who've done the lens mod for the front turn signal, what replacement bulbs did you purchase? I've not been able to identify a smaller/shorter LED bulb to use.

***update

I went with these - https://www.carid.com/2009-nissan-37...273032132.html
