BRIGHT Sill Plate color change DIY for the older eyes

I know there are other DIY's out there for the LED color change on the door sill plates, but if you are over 50 as I am and your eyes aren't as sharp and your hands shake a bit, then changing out those 0603 LED's is a big challenge.

So I decided to find a way to do this mod with my weak eyes and shaky hands. I wanted to use something bright and would work with 12v since the circuitry for the sill plate is 12v.

I purchase my LED's from Xbox 360 Mods, Xbox 360 Cases, 3mm leds, 0603 smds, 5mm leds, PLCC2 and More!, but you can get yours from almost any place that sells LED's. Blue - PLCC2/3528 12V LED Strip - Adhesive Backing - 5cm Section are the actual ones I used. Several colors to choose from. I chose blue.

Here are some pictures to follow the DIY modification.

Oh, by the way. In case you didn't notice, you will be replacing 4 tiny 0603 LED's with 6 large PLCC2 LED's for a nice bright output.

I'll be doing this in a few days once mine arrives...I ordered white LEDs to match my LED interior
