Alternate Method for GTR Red Start-Stop Button Swap

Hi there, has anyone tried this method of replacing the standard Start-Stop button with the red GTR one?

This Japanese website seems to suggest that it's possible without having to remove the centre console panels to gain access. Just pry the old one out with the outermost ring.

The reason you wouldn't want to do it that way is risking scratching the leather. It's possible to do it. Up to owner preference.

But a GTR button with blue LED's. :yum:

I guess you are right, there's bound to be some scratch on the trim or minor nick on the plastic ring with the shortcut method.

Anyways, the blue LEDs on the GTR button do look cool! I'll wait for the English site to be ready and maybe I can buy one!

you can have google translate the page, it's $85 to $105 with shipping, depending on the options you choose.

You can pop the start button out with a plastic panel trim tool.

As for the LEDs, it requires a little bit of soldering.

Did you do anything to it or did it come from the factory like that? I just bought a g37 one from a guy on here, took it apart and took the rubber cover off of the middle led and it was blue underneath. I'm wondering why they did that.

Anyone want their stock or GT-R start/stop button LED color changed, PM me and we'll see what we can work out.
