Solid core construction
 
Race Ramps solid core construction won't fail like that. If you do ignore the rated load of 3000 pounds per pair and exceed the capacity of the ramps, they will crush as you drive up them rather than collapse when you are at the top. So there is no risk of getting trapped beneath the car. Heavy Duty versions of the ramps are available with a 5000 pound per pair capacity.

I will consider these, how many rubber stoppers do they have? Because from past experience, two isn't enough.

Question...so when did your ramps actually give out? When you drove up them? Or like when you hit the stopper, it was stopped, and then they gave out? Also, did you happen to overun the ramps by chance? Because, I noticed when I first tried to get my car up there, they would slide a little bit, so I just put some weight in the front of them to keep them in place.

I inched my way to it, but stopped at the stopper. I got out and checked them multiple times. Turned off the car and stepped out closed the door and went to get some of the supplies. I heard creaking and like a snapping sounds so I turned around and saw it collapse. I used some spare carpets to hold them because earlier they kept on slipping.

Wow thats crazy....I hope this is just an isolated incident because I use these for my oil changes every once in a while, I guess I should give it a couple mins once I get it up on the ramps to make sure it does not collapse, then stick my head underneath...like you said luckily you werent under there when they gave way. And these are the rhino ramps that you used correct? Where did you buy them?

Advance. To be safe, I advise to stick an old tire, or something big and strong enough to withstand the weight, under the car with you just in case they were to collapse.

There are no rubber pads on the bottom of Race Ramps. They are not necessary. In the case of the RLL-72-2 ramps, which are 72" long by 12" wide, there are six square feet of contact surface between the ramps and your driveway. Plus with the 6.8˚ initial incline the tires will be on top of the ramps before they would have a chance to slide.

Race Ramps are made from solid core EPS high density foam with a high friction coating. By contrast, hollow plastic ramps or stamped steel ramps have very little contact surface with the pavement.
