Wanted to have a different look to my ride, and painting the Fangs and Rear Diffuser was not an option. So decided to get some good quality Carbon Fiber Film, like 3M .Already had Door Pillars covered in CF,so it was the look to go with.
Few hours of forming the film with a blow dryer,on the front Fangs,Mirrors and Rear Diffuser.Final results pictured below.

Just curious. Did you use any glue to attach the film?

Rsdntevl 08-19-2011 01:42 AM

looks good. any advice on how to make it smooth?

EVOnomore 08-19-2011 06:53 AM

No glue needed. It comes with sticky back side. The 3M Film is pretty flexible, just make sure it is warm when installing it.Or heat it up with the hair dryer. No issues with bubbles, just do the flat parts first, squeegee it out with your fingers or soft piece of plastic, and than stretch the film around the bends.Cut off excess film with the blade, and you are done.
The hardest part to do were the mirrors.Used two pieces to cover each mirror.
It does not tear, nor break. It is CF after all.
After you are done.Let the car bake in the sun,or use hair dryer on the CF Film.

Looks nice. The fangs are the most difficult to do. The rear valence is actually pretty easy to do.

OP, how Is this holding up?

EVOnomore 11-27-2011 10:47 AM

Holding up pretty good.No peeling whatsoever.I used a lot of heat when applied.

Dembflyr 11-27-2011 03:04 PM

Good to know. I am debating doing this or paint. Thanks.

CF Film is the way to go.Just make sure is says 3M on it.If you get tired of it,you can just remove it and you are back to the OEM look.
