Let me know if you can find something that gives instructions |
There are a lot of posts... google vinyl install.
You need to do a few things: 1) Clean surface 2) Spray surface with soapy water 3) Lay vinyl over surface and peel a portion of the adhesive backing off 4) Spray adhevise side of vinyl with soapy water 5) Lay vinyl on surface and use foam wrapped tool to smooth it out 6) continue peeling backing off and repeating steps 4 and 5 until the sheet is fully down 7) Work on smoothing out vinyl with tool and tucking the ends under the weather stripping on the sides and the windshields on the front and back 8) Use a heat gun if necessary to smooth out any wrinkles 9) cut excess on sides and front to back 10) continue to smooth with tool and make sure all excess liquid under the vinyl is worked out 11) let dry |

If you diy and have never done it I would strongly suggest soapy water but all u need is to MIST the adhesive side and the roof just enough so that it's still sticks to the car but still is movable on the car and you can pick it up easily. DO NOT apply to much or it will take forever to dry and be extremely hard to work with. I would try to put it down dry. I would remove half the paper from the back and start from the middle and work my way out (from center to door) But it is difficult to do so for the inexperience guys I would suggest soapy water. |

Holy crap, I tried to install a vinyl roof overlay to my Z about a month ago and majorly failed.. I had wifey helping me and it we just could not get it to go on without bubbles or wrinkles... The vinyl was some cheap crap I got online and wasn't expecting much, but damn If I try to do that again.. I found a place locally that does them and am going to be happy to pay them to get it done.. It's not for the novice.. Just FYI... |
