A good tool set?
 

Hi Everyone,
Im going to start repairing my car, and i need to buy a metric tool set.
Any recommendations?

Sears-Craftsman

Craftsman will do the job. For ratchets might want to get something nicer from their pro lineup. I use mostly snap-on/facom/SK.

Craftsman, I have the 145 piece set I believe it is and I also bought a 15 piece 1/4 inch drive set. Done over 25 installs and the only other hand tools where torx. Catch it on sale to save some cash. Or even amazon or ebay?

Snap On is definitely the best, but probably over priced for what you are doing. If you were a mechanic and/or worked on stuff all the time, wanted things to last a life time, take a serious beating then Snap-On.

I think Craftsman is probably your best bet. If you want cheaper or need some fill in tools check Harbor Freight if you are on a budget.

Ask any of the people I have done installs for, I abuse the crap out of my craftsman tools they never stop working and I would rather have a set of 500 piece of them rather than 30 piece set from snap on, plus you have to wait for the truck to come to you or hunt it down. Sears is located almsot anywhere. Just how I see it.

FYI, the Snap On warranty does not transfer upon sale of an item so have caution when buying used. Also, the Craftsman lifetime warranty only applies to basic single piece parts: Craftsman torque wrenches only have a 1 year warranty. If you want to extend the warranty though be sure to purchase the items on a credit card that adds to your manufacturer warranty. AMEX and certain Visa's offer this. That said, I have a lot of Craftsman tools.

I went to sears but they have both metric and standard in the 145 piece, is this a waste? (because nissan uses metric system)

Which piece do you recommend the 200 piece or the 145?
