I posted a very simple way to remove that dummy fog somewhere. Before you even mess with the nuts you take your dremel cutting wheel and put a small slit in the stud. Now put your ratcheting wrench on the bolt and a flathead in your slit. Hold the flat head tight and start cranking.

It is very difficult (yes, possible) to get access enough to work with a dremel to cut those slots/cut decent slots. Reality is, if you use a heat gun to gently heat those locktite secured fasteners for 15-30 seconds the nuts will come off very easily with a box wrench..

This is a standard 7443. Remove the outer contacts marked with the red arrow by wiggling them back and fourth until they break. Carefully bend the inner contacts marked with a green arrow to the outer position (where the outer contacts were). Inner contacts are 5.4 watts, the outer contacts are 25 watts like the 7440 (turn signal bulbs).... way too bright. It's possible that there are lower wattage LED's that would work. This brightness matches the rear red parking lamp brightness better. The stock 7440 is as bright as the turns or brake lights and i don't think it should be.

this part is tricky but doable. You have to insert those tips on the back of the license plate light. If you notice on my pictures how they insert. It is a tight fit but you need to be very patient....

let us know if you need help..

On the fog lamp there are 2 wires hooking up to a connector, you will place the invisicord wire on the back of that connector. Let me know if this info helps, feel free to hit me up, I do have plenty of pictures that help illustrate the installation.:tiphat:

Here is your answer. You hook it up to the back of the connector of the fog light. The back of the fog light connector would be the so called harness.

Like lastblueprint stated it could be done like his DIY. But the Z1 short cable you bought should have came with instructions (per Z1 website) on how to wire it up correctly its a different DIY then lastblueprint created.

unless you shipped your car from overseas you have to purchase a fog light.

diddy535 07-08-2013 08:00 PM

He's got a '13 so that's probably the reflector (new to 13s). So yeah you'd have to order the actual foglight.

carlitos_370z 07-10-2013 01:55 PM

Thanks for the info guys  im going to try something... lets see what happened ;)

Guys. All I need just 36" long right? And is this work with Evo-r rear fog light? Because I want a led one. 😁

Cbtech 07-15-2013 01:54 PM

just use some 16 gauge speaker wire and black tape. Both connectors have big enough gaps that you can stuff the wire in without spending $17 plus shipping for a 15¢ piece of wire and needle.

it should be fine for the EVO-r light as they both use the same voltage.

What did you do? Tells us, in detail, what you did and maybe we can help you figure it out. Sounds like you lost a wire that is common to all the rear lights.

Cbtech 08-14-2013 10:30 PM

To me it sounds like he might have shorted out the rear tail light section. Might want to check your fuses.

NaderS. 08-15-2013 12:18 AM

what am i looking for when looking at my fuses.

Huan'z 08-16-2013 08:33 AM

The tail light fuse is in the battery section. U might need to take out the battery cover and there's a fuse box. That's happened to me before but I can't find the fuse box bring it to dealer and they charged me 90 for a stupid fuse! Lesson learned. 😔

Huan'z 08-16-2013 08:35 AM

If your steering wheel light was out and the tail light out too. Then same thing happened to mine before. The dealer lied to me. They said the fuse box is inside the dashboard that's why I bring it to the dealer. But the truth is the fuse box just inside the battery section. 😔

Gibby1113 11-07-2013 10:15 PM

Sweet DIY!! I plan on doing this very soon.

Does anyone know how to connect to the third break light? I'm taking about the one that's on the hatch.
