A note to anyone in Ohio that has one of these or is thinking about one. I was talking with my neighbor who is a State Highway Patrol trooper about how they handle laser jammers. He told me that when they got their latest laser guns, if they shoot the laser at you and you have a jammer, it says "JAMMER" inside their scope. From there, their policy is to pull you over, write you an "Obstructing Justice" ticket ($500) and then ask you to hand over the jammer, or they will impound your car until they can remove it. Again, this is what he told me and I have no reason to not believe him, he always shoots me straight when I ask him about stuff like that. Just thought I would share, lateron.

My install

This post helped me a lot, so thanks for all the info. I just installed the M27 today. Thought I'd post my experience, maybe help someone else out or stir some new ideas for projects. (sorry if pics aren't too good....camera on phone):

First, I ended up installing the head units on the top level of the grill using just the molding tape method. They fit just fine without cutting the little vertical pieces on the grill, and out of the way of the tow hook:

Next to run the wires. I had sort of planned on running to driver's side via the existing gromet mentioned in an earlier post. But, I have the 6MT (no extra hole by my brake cylinder):

So, I decided to run them along the hood release cable via the wheel well to the driver's firewall. Yes, I had to remove the wheel and well lining, like in the OP:

Drilled a new hole for running cables through firewall just below the hood release pass through (ended up being bigger than this):

Since I have a ZR, all three middle console switches are in use, as is the S-mode switch location. I didn't want to drill my dash or anything else permanent, so I came up with a nifty mount, low by my right knee location:

All in all, went pretty well. Now to go test it out. :happydance:

Nice DIY, helped a lot while I installed the Escort ZR4 this week. Repped.

A big thanks to all the contributors to this thread! I installed my Blinder heads and got the wires running in through the drivers-side wheel well. I need to tap into some power next, but I couldn't find any info on this thread about the best place to tap into. Are the 3 spare fuses at the bottom of the box tied into the ignition? (I'm guessing not).

Where did you guys power your device from (that turns off with the ignition).

Thanks!
