Just ordered the FRAM CF10157. Plan on swapping it in this weekend. Any guesses on how bad the stock one will look?

You may or may not need to go MOPP 4 for the removal... Prolly a good idea to have it ready to go.. :rofl2:

Nice! Thanks! Nissan sure is cheap. How hard would it be to pop one in there on the assembly line. Sheesh.

So the 2009's did not come with a filter in the housing?

Nissan OEM air cabin filter part numbers

370Z OEM part number: B7277-1EA0A $24

INFINITI FX45 cabin air filters that will fit in the 370Z, OEM part numbers:

999M1VP051* (white), filter kit-air, A/C $24
999M1VS251 (charcoal), filter kit-air, A/C $38

*Nissan will supercede older Infiniti charcoal cabin air filters to this part number.

I think Walmart has the arm&hammer filters that filter a lot better than the stock.

Mine had a filter but it was thin bent and twisted by the tabs on the back of the door. Had to clip those off when putting in the thicker infinity unit from Autozone.

Mine was also filled with crap.

My nissan dealer and several auto parts stores tell me my 09 370z has no cabin filter? I followed the DYI and there is a filter box but no filter in there? I'm sure no one has removed it...I think? Is there a reason OEM in my car would not have one?

Jack370Z 06-23-2012 04:57 PM

What I understand is they didn't include the cabin filter in the '09 so they would have something for an upgrade in the '10 models. Not sure if that is true or not. Read the rest of this thread if you would like to install one.

Just installed my in cabin filter. Found a filter with charcoal added at O'reilly auto parts at a good price and fits fine.It is a microgard part # 3055 $15.99 each

Because Nissan, for whatever reason (they haven't said why), decided not to install the filter at the factory.

My guess as to why (and it's only my guess) is that Nissan threw a bone to their dealers who would be able to put the filter in as an added-cost item when selling or servicing the car. My dealer had a sign up in the service area offering to install the filter (I've forgotten the price, but it wasn't cheap).

I prefer OEM Nissan parts.

The part # for the in-cabin filter is B7277-1EA0A.

This is what my filter looked like when I changed it today:
