accidently ordered the D2R bulb

Does anyone know will the D2R fit our car? I know its a D2S bulb ,I accidently click on D2R when I was ordering. And is there any different between D2S and D2R?

Look back a couple pages I think D2R fits however you have to change the notch i think, D2S wat im running, I would recommend getting the D2s :tiphat:

Ya I probably will have to return it back when the bulb get here. If I do put the D2R on, I think it will decrease the output of what Ive understand through my research.

yeah one is a reflector and the other is projector if I am correct, just check back a few pages to be sure. :tiphat:

The D2R bulbs have a little black stripe around the bulbs to reflect glare. Those aren't meant for the 370z's optics.

We have D2 bulbs in stock ready to go.

Not true, I did both of mine without having to remove the wheel. You just have to squeeze

I've got my headlights off the Z for painting, and when I pulled the 2nd HID bulb out to bake my lights I think I might have messed up the bulb. There is a slight noise when rotating the bulb and my other one doesn't do it. So rather than wait to find out I think I'll just order some new bulbs, most likely 6-8k, gotta figure exactly what I'm looking for.

It's tuff to tell in most of your photos exactly how it might turn out, I'd like a hint of blue but not obnoxious, can't stand too much. But it looks like even 8k might not be that bad. Judging from what I've said, what temp would you guys suggest for me?

JWMotoring 01-31-2013 08:38 AM

Can't go wrong with 6000k IMO. It doesn't scream aftermarket and has a small hint of blue. I'm in OKC so if you order from us and you can have them in no time :)

We also let you swap them out to another temp if you try and don't like the color (within 14 days of purchase).

Sounds great to me, would you PM me the pricing for your 6000k's to 75024? Would love to get my lights back on the car ASAP but don't want to put them back in without new bulbs because I'm pretty sure the one is broke! I'll shoot you a PM for faster response but thanks for your post

OK just a heads up I just changed my HID's to 6000K from V-Leds look great but the housing that the clip snaps into and holds the bulb in is plastic looks like metal and one side broke off so I got in there with 1 clip holding.
So easy does it or the housing is brittle and breaks easy. So with my luck I will have to buy a whole new headlamp assembly because of a broken housing.:roflpuke2:

Great DIY by abakja1 I borrowed his pic to so the clip and housing that broke off.

!@#$% I just broke the tab too! I was trying to be careful too. How sh!tty of Nissan to make this plastic. Is anyone replacing the bulb mount? Do you have to remove the whole headlight to replace that? Or just F it and leave it as is. Nice.

Sorry for the bump from the dead, but I did the swap today and I broke the tab on the bulb mount. Did any of you guys with broken tabs change the mount, if so part number, price, etc? If not how's it holding up and how long has it been that way?

The parking lights are the same as the interior map light and the license plate lights, part number 194.

I just ordered my 6000k from JW motoring, bulbs never flicker when they are switched on, great brightness however i think my right side seems to be dimmer than the left....

Has anyone had better luck with a different brand? Maybe the CBI's?
