Installed Garax's on my 2010 and they work like a charm no issues nor modifications needed. Sourced from eBay.

I'm looking for some 6k HIDs for my headlights as well. Your link leads to the home page. Who do you guys use now that JWMotoring is gone?

These are D2R not D2S. I think I was able to find them though, thanks for the link!

A few pointers, as I did it for the 2nd time today and went with 8k:
1. Buy a few of the plastic clips from Nissan. No matter how carefully you try to remove the current clips, they will break. If the don’t break, they’re so brittle and might as well replace. 2. Test the lights before putting everything back together. I replaced the parking lights with LEDs and put one backwards. 3. Wear latex gloves. You will get dirty. This will also prevent you from any accidental skin contact with the bulb. 4. Don’t be lazy. Jack up the car and remove the wheel. It will make the installation much easier. 5. I used medium pliers to turn the parking lights, as I have big hands and can’t fit in that space. 6. I placed a small amount of dielectric grease between the connector and bulb. |
Not sure if it's just me, but I prefer to remove the bumper and headlight to mess with the bulbs. The whole bulb swap took me 45 minutes.

Is just me or are 6000k bulbs today not as "blue" as they were 6-8 years ago? They all seem to be pure white today! WTF.

Anyone switched to leds for their 370z. Thinking about it for my 2009 but not sure if they come w low and high beam single units. Anyone using leds please chime in, provide model number and link to where you got them.

Think this is going to become one of the more popular threads. Lost my first bulb and have a pair of Phillips in the mail.

HID Bulb Change
Something bizarre has happened the last decade. You cannot find high end 6000K HID’s. They don’t exist. You might find cheap china brands. Phillips, Osram, Morimoto all fall short of 6000k.
|
Osram offers both the Cool Blue Intense (~6K) and the Cool Blue Boost (~7K), however the latter supposedly aren't road legal although you can still buy them. But, there's a reason most don't go past that: there's no benefit and at the cost they're asking, most buyers will want the best performing, not the most blue/purple/etc. Also, I wouldn't group Morimoto alongside Philips or Osram, but that's just me.

HID Bulb Change
It seems Osram is not following the Kevin chart with them though. There was a test done by retrofitsource.
