What is meant by the Double Din Conversion Kit? Is that just the plastic trim from the base model?

Nav to Non Nav completed in Australia.
I did have a lot of connectivity issues with the A/C Auto Amp to the M66 plug.
As it turned out, some of the female pins of the M66 plug were too loose for the male pins of the A/C Auto Amp. Something I dismissed as the car was built in September 2018 and had never been opened up.
I had to remove the female pins, [6] [7] [10] [11] [26] [27], from the M66 harness and push a small precision flat blade screwdriver in the back of those female pins, getting under the spring.
It closed them up and now there is a solid electrical connection.
With all the troubleshooting, I have a spare Non Nav A/C Auto Amp - 27760 1EA0A plus an extra four female pins to place into positions [6] [7] [26] [27], factory crimped. These are the pins specifically for this harness, not the M67 pins.
Pm me if anyone is interested.

A HUGE thanks to 2SIC4U for all this info to make this conversion. It would not have happened with out this post and video.

I have read somewhere that the RHD has a different model number for the ac pumps, have you managed to make it work with the LHD ac amp and plastics?

What did you guys do with the OEM reversing camera? Was it a direct plug and play into the aftermarket headunit?

I was looking at getting the japanese market equivalent parts. Hopefully the wiring will be the same as the US version. I've found the part numbers below if anyone is interested.

27130: control assembly
27500-1EB0A

27726N: amplifier, control air conditioner
27760-1EB0A

Looking forward to performing this mod in the near future once I acquire everything.

I have been unable to get the OEM rear camera working from within the cables in the dash.. I'm sure i'm just missing power to the camera as i found the signal wires (they go to the OEM navigation display), but didn't really bother too much as I am adding a 360° camera system anyway that requires it's own rear camera.

That’s good to know as it confirms what I was thinking after reading the 2011 full service manual.

So I was finally able to do the conversion of the NAV with Bose to an aftermarket headunit with working AC and rear defrost. Many thanks to 2SIC4U for the write up and Jetset for some advice. I was also able to help another 370Z wire up the AC conversion. 2 for 2!

I was also able to retain the OEM reversing camera using the wiring from the harnesses (24-pin that connects to the screen & 40-pin that connects to the AV control unit) in the center dash. See pics for the harness pin outs.

Just checking back in and giving a small update. It looks like finally someone is working on making a digital fix to allow for a dash tablet and the tablet will also control the AC so no more need for the non-nav ac controls or amp. Whenever they release the nav ac control kit I will buy it and do a video on the reverse everything I did to allow the tablet to control everything. I will use the three holes in the workshop 12 face plate that were for the ac controls for gauges.

For all those that enjoyed my write up and have successfully done the conversion, YELL YEAH! Thank you! It means a lot to me knowing I was able to help the Z community.

Heaps of thanks for the write up. I’ve always have wanted to do it since getting the car many years ago but was hoping for someone to show the way.
