DIY: Rear Damper Adjustment Access Without Extenders

Hey guys so a while back i installed coilovers and didnt like the idea of having my adjustment dials sitting out of the plastic so i decided i was going to make an access port and cut a hole in my interior to do so. Today i finally finished the project and figured id share in case there were people like me who want to hide the adjuster.

What you will need (in no particular order lol)
1. Dremel tool or something to cut a hole in plastic
2. A 2" wide circle cutout
3. Masking tape
3. Tape measure
4. 2 1.5" "Knock Out Seals" From Lowes or similar $1 ea
5. Remove rear interior plastics (easiest way)
6. Black spray paint

Step 1

Remove rear interior plastic panels and have your plugs from lowes ready

Step 2

Create your 2" circle template

Step 3

Cover the tops that go over the dampers with masking tape

Step 4

Place your circle template 1.5" in towards the rest of the panel and 2" up from the bottom (looking at the panels as if they were still in the car) and then trace your template onto the masking tape. Make sure they look even and in the same spot on both sides before you begin cutting/grinding

Step 5

Grind out the hole to the size of your 2" circle template. Smooth the edges and remove any debris and tape. Circle doesnt have to be 100% perfect as the plugs will cover most imperfections but of course try to get it close.

Step 6

Paint and install your plugs into the hole. You may need to bend some tabs outward to ensure the fit is solid and wont move/rattle around.

Step 7

Reinstall panels into car and enjoy your easy to access discrete damper adjustment cover plugs :happydance:
