Does anyone know how to change tail light bulbs
Aloha i was just wondering if anyone has pics of changing the rear blinker and reverse light to leds. Anything would be helpful. Mahalo

follow the rear foglamp diy since you'll have to remove the trunkliner to gain access to the bulbs...(you have to remove the lamps off the car, no access from behind).
|
well thats poopy
|
Thanks for the help the diy section for the foglight really helped
|
:D glad it helped u out man
|
you'll need load resistors if you want to swap the blinkers to LED's or it will blink super fast
|
^^^ true that.... lol i got use to mine already....

Dangit!!!
Shoulda put the chrome turn signals in during one of the many times I had the hatch ripped apart. :icon14: |
Does anyone know a good site to order the Stealth tail light turn signal bulbs? And whether or not they need a load resistor?

7440 Silver Chrome Natural Amber Bulb: eBay Motors (item 170492100215 end time Jun-26-10 18:38:27 PDT) Shipping sucks, but they arrived pretty quickly. I've yet to install them, but it should not need a load resistor, as these are still regular filament style bulbs I tried to order the ones from amazon (see Shrute's journal), but the item is no longer available for the 7440 bulb size. |

Also a sponsor on this forum has them thezstore.com, the link is on the front page of the forum.

The bulbs are replacible? Damn dealer made me trade in the Z for a new one with working lights. Do you know how much that costs?

Yap cheap and with your DIY thread on the tail lights even i got it done with no real problem.
|
The bulbs are at Amazon for $3 each (got mine in yesterday). I now need to find how to access the third bolt holding in the light assy.
|
The nuts are behind the large plastic panels on either side of the hatch.
8mm IIRC. Once you have that undone, pull the tail light assembly straight back without rocking it. It will come off with a "pop". |
Thanks. The car is a roadster, but I will look at removing whatever panel is behind the light housing area.
|
Any reason why you guys choose to do the Amber lights? What bout clear? Think cops would really be that much of a pain?

This is what i put in and my tails are lightly tinted, i did it about 8 months ago no problems here. Then again the Z is not a daily driver. http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/999/51wohpbxicl.jpg i think it cost about a buck or so :tiphat: |
Sorry i don't have a very good pic of the bulb in but here something.
