Questions....

Do you lay down the Xpel and Opti-Coat where the Xpel isn't, or do you Opti-Coat over the Xpel as well?

My thinking is Opti-Coating over the Xpel kind of defeats the 'self healing' of the Xpel, but I have heard that is how it's often done.

I'm looking at C Quartz Finest and I'm told it is put on the car after the Xpel has been applied and put over the Xpel as well.

Thanks

Beautiful car and top grade products! There's a guy running around Greenville with a GT2 that needs somebody's services...car's a disgrace!

Zipper 104 10-15-2014 03:57 AM

Actually

I figure I'd better clarify my point about losing the self healing of the Xpel by putting Opti-Coat over it.
Who would need the self healing when you've put another layer of protection over the Xpel, anyway?
Still interested about what was done however.

Thanks

we do not opti coat under the film, we have had some issues with that, the xpel will not adhere to it. Optimum states that the coating will not affect the self healing property.

So you do put Opti-Coat over the Xpel?
Paint prep, then Xpel, then OC?

Thanks

yes you can do oc over the xpel with no issues, however 99% of the time we use a wax or sealant.
