The car will be vinyl wrapped immediately. Should i bother with a sealant on the fresh paint or can that be done once the vinyl comes off a few years later?

Why put anything on it if you're going to wrap it? Sealants and waxes are for protection. If you're wrapping the entire car, what's the use?

I do know i need to degrease it with alcohol beforehand, but I wasnt sure if sealant was more like a protective hardened coat rather than a consumable that needs to be reapplied regularly. thanks :tiphat:

Exactly what are you asking?

James10694 12-04-2015 12:42 AM

Would the wait time for paint curing be any longer if I vinyl wrapped the front? I was shooting for 30-60 days then I was going to wrap it

The curing time is EXACTLY what the painter said it would be. That is the first and LAST person that you should ask that very question. I use chemicals when I paint that allow my paint to cure in less than 2 weeks. Who knows what your painter used? THE PAINTER. Any exact amount of time that anyone on any forum gives you would be nothing but a guess unless they know exactly what your painter used.

Makes sense I'll have to stop by and ask the body shop. Thanks junkman
