touch up paint help

i have a pearl white nizmo and have rock chips on the hood , roof and front clip... i got the touch up paint from the dealership, tried to apply in a spot , then realized i don't know what i'm doing...has anyone done this before? any kind of help would be appreciated..

that's a hard color to match to begin with.

i use a toothpick with the tip flattend as applicator. just tap your table top or something to fatten the tip. then dab paint onto some plastic sheet or something and use your toothpick to apply.

you'll need to let it dry and re-apply in a couple of hours until the touch up is pretty much even with the surrounding paint.

if you want to go further, you can keep applying it until you get a tad convex.... let dry 3-4wks and sand it down. but this is for someone who knows wat he's doing.

Here is a write up I did on Dr. Colorchip.

i read the write up , what you did looks good ... do i need to let the base coat dry first then add the pearl ? when i tried it , it went on way too thick . i see where the toothpick would work pretty good too.

That is likely due to the paint you have doesn't come with any sort of thinner similar to the SealAct provided in the Dr. Colorchip kit. The dealer paint pens/kit is crap from my experience on past vehicles.
