Griots is not as good as a flex. (hence the price difference) However, it is perfect for someone looking to take care of their own cars. It is similar to a Porter Cable 7424, but with a bit more power.

GG 6" is fine for your first orbital. I just used mine for the first time this weekend and liked it alot. The flex isn't worth the extra cost for a beginner/hobbyist. The Griots also has a lifetime warranty.

Btw, for hobbiests just use the orange pad and scratchx2.0 for polishing.

No need to get the polish1, 2, 3, etc griots offers.

I love my Griots Garage 6" DA! Works great In fact, I just ordered a new set of polishing pads because my originals had gone bad.

My Porter Cable and Refresh 3 polish work just fine for me. Those Flex machines are mad expensive!
