are any cordless polishers worth buying?

Just as the title says, are any cordless polishers worth bothering with? For my situation, I live in an apartment and my garage does not have electrical outlets. I've actually not looked to see if there are any at the self-serve car wash I wash my Z at, but I don't expect any. So, my preference nudges over towards cordless things.

That said, I won't bother with a mediocre experience just to go cordless.

Worst case, I'll borrow a buddy's drive-way for polishing parties. :)

There are some cordless tools out there on the market, but they lack two critical things for extended polishing sessions:
  • Power
  • Battery Life

I'd stick with using your buddies driveway.

Kenchan, sorry to say but you're wrong here. I have a both a corded and cordless leaf blower, and the cordless one blows the corded one out of the water. But that's because it's gas powered and not electric (like I said... cordless) :icon17:

Nice. Thanks for the replies!

I'll try out a cordless leaf blower, just because they're pretty cheap and I could use one anyway. I think I'm better off not bothering with the cordless polishers. :)

I think Kenchan was arguing that the electric cordless leaf blowers are crappy (they are). IMO Gas powered > Electric (w/ cord) > Electric (w/o cord aka battery powered)

Depends on application of blower.

Cordless around pool > than electric w/cord in pool.

Just saying.

Fair enough :tiphat: Safety should certainly be a primary concern in any scenario. A cheap cordless electric one would also probably be safer and have sufficient power if you're just using it to blow water off your car after washing it.

A lot of drivers turn around in front of my house, tearing up the road surface and leaving lots of rocks against the curb and at the driveway entry. My yard work typically includes blowing around a lot of asphalt and dirt, and since I don't just blow it out in the street or on my neighbors property, I have to blow it into piles to clean up by hand. In my circumstances, weak equipment takes significantly longer to accomplish the task.
