Adam's Detailed: Tesla Model S

Mario and I had an early morning date with a Tesla Model S... one of only a handful currently available worldwide, and the owner requested we clean it up.

Given that its hardly been used and time was short we didn't do a full correction job. Just a thorough waterless wash, 1 pass of Brilliant Glaze with a Red Gen4 Pad on the Flex 3401.

Topped that off with a coating of Americana. Some touchup work was done with detail spray around the exterior and interior, otherwise this car was looking fantastic.

Really impressed with how the final version of this car came out compared to the prototype we detailed awhile back (DETAILED: Tesla Model S Prototype - Adam's Polishes Forums) the fit and finish is amazing, the function of things like the key fob, door handles, touchscreen, etc are just all so seamless. Very impressed.

Tesla-found by Elon Musk & our tax dollars. He also started & our tax dollars is the major owner of Space X.
The Detail shop did a great job. The car is nice but nowhere as nice as other $60k to $90k cars. It is battery powered & build in Cal.
For the life of me, I can't understand why any mid-class guy/family would buy it. It is the FIRST car this company build from scratch. No matter if you charge it daily, the battery never stops getting weaker. Then it dies. There will be almost no re-sale/trade value because spending $20-$30k + labor for a battery of a 5/6 year old car is not worth it. Try not to play the music too loud while a/c is running(battery:).

Give me a BMW, AUDI, MB, or any $60k-$90k Japanese car any day.

These things are everywhere in Fremont, maybe because that is where the Tesla factory is and Dorman's the official provider of cherry pie filling for all of N. America.

Looks like a cross of a BMW M5, VW Passat and front end of Maserati... just my thoughts...
