clay bar!!!
Will clay Baring ur car cause micro scratches on ur paint? Also what can i use to apply wax to the car without making micro scratches on the surfaces?

Absolutely. Every time you touch your car with anything, you cause micro-scratches. You can minimize them by using good quality wax with a good quality microfiber applicator, but you'll still get them.
Clay bar? If you've washed it first with a standard two-bucket wash and used a good quality wash mitt, you'll likely have only some micro-marring from the clay bar process. If you're concerned about holograms, micro-scratching, or swirls in your clear coat, you need a Porter-Cable polisher. |

This is an alternative to clay, but it requires a DA Polisher: http://www.detailersdomain.com/NanoS...ide_p_706.html Swirls/micro scratches usually happens when you wash & dry your car. Dirty wash mit or cheap microfiber towel is like taking a fine grit sandpaper to the surface of your car. Spend a bit more for the better material. There are plenty of threads on the proper technique on here. A clean applicator shouldn't cause swirls at all. Check out Detailers Domain or Adam's for foam applicators. If you're using a good quality wax, it shouldn't require any pressure when you're applying the wax. Also, use a soft quality microfiber towel to take the wax off or all your work will be for nothing. |
Sweet thanks for the info. I guess I need some new gear for waxing and clashing. So far I have Auto Glym products.
