Nice correction. Whoever polished it out first needs to turn in their buffer. Always blows my mind when I see a car with buffer trails and know that most likely the person PAID to have those installed.

Can I ask a question (since I've got a solid red)?
Mine was swirled pretty bad from the dealer so I hit it with a PC / yellow LC pad and Poorboys 2.5. Followed that up with Poorboys 1.0 on a white pad. Overall, it looked a lot better, but still had a lot of what I've always called RIDS - not full-on swirls, just short marks. I really hated to go as aggressive as 2.5 with it to start with, but I'm kind of at a loss. I can get my Honda paint glass perfect with that combo (or even 2.0 / 1.0), but just can't seem to get the solid red perfect. I use Zaino, so I don't want to use any fillers. Though after 5 coats of Z5 I did top with S100 and it was glass smooth (for a couple weeks at least). I just can't figure this paint out.
Any suggestions?

Looks very good. What are your comments on the quality/depth of nissan paint?

sure the Zaino and the S100 definitely filled all the rids up after you wash the car a few times those will come back.
you will need to step up the cut and pick up a compound like Meg's M105 with the Surbuf pad or Uber Yellow Pad.

Z-5 does contain fillers. That's it's how it hides swirls & scratches. If you're specifically trying to avoid fillers, stick to Z-2, as it has none (IIRC...). Unless, of course, you were using Z-5 *because* you were still seeing some micro scratches. In that case, disregard my comment. ;)

Back to OP,
Beautiful detail, as usual. Always a pleasure to see the DD details, but especially this one on a car so near and dear to us here.

Curious though - why no Iron Cut on the wheels? I only ask because I'm used to seeing you guys use that in so many of your details, with seemingly fantastic results. Just no need for it on this Z? Not dirty enough? Not part of what the customer requested? Or some other reason? Just curious. Keep up the great work!

Sorry, I meant fillers in a polish. I know Z5 has some slight filling capability, but honestly it's not much better than Z2. May help a little...

Man that was a hell of a detailing that you did. You can tell night & day difference. I'm sure you spent a good 4-5 hrs on cleaning her up. Job well done & great pics.
